I AURORA TURF NOTES I @ Billy Meyer, who serves as track superintendent at Sportsmans Park, was a visitor at the Fox Valley course Saturday. Trainer A. Lamoureaux for Mrs. C. C. Winters stable reported that the good sprinter Bald Crest has developed a severe attack of pneumonia since arriving in Texas. Stake blanks for the forthcoming Hawthorne meeting were received at Aurora on Saturday morning and distributed to owners. The list included the ,000 Hawthorne Inaugural, ,000 Decoration Day Handicap, ,000 Hawthorne Juvenile, ,000 Hawthorne ! Sprint, 5,000 Chicago Derby and the ,000 Illinois Owners Handicap. The Chicago Derby is scheduled for June 20. Mrs. J. E. Farley received word from E. E. "Doc" Watson, who is at his Ohio thoroughbred nursery at present, of the foal- i ing of a colt from Blithe. The youngster is by Morocco. The six juveniles that Harry Herendeen bred at his Crystal Lake, 111., farm have had the names submitted for them approved by ! the registrar of The Jockey Club and are in training now at the Fox Valley Jockey Clubs track. They are Derail, chestnut filly i by Spic and Span— Lady Crusader; Spoof, bay filly by Geo. E. Allen— Euphrasia; Als Son, black gelding by Geo. E. Allen— Sun Tourist; Mr. H., bay colt by Geo. E. Allen-Florence H.; Lamy, bay or brown filly by Mile Play— My Inver, and Rowuill, chestnut filly by Roguish Eye— Querquill. The veteran campaigner, Bob Weidel, has been returned to training at Aurora, after : being on the shelf for more than two months, according to Jack Klucina, who is handling the racer for Mrs. J. Holub.
