j | j I CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES | 14 g Jockey C. Corbett was suspended for five days for rough riding while astride Impeach in the fifth race at Churchill Downs Saturday. Willis Sharpe Kilmers Ned Reigh, which unloaded here in an ailing condition, was reported as much improved Monday morning. Jockey Charles Kurtsinger left for Nar-ragansett Park, where he will ride J. Tommy Taylors Planetoid in the Juvenile Stakes to be offered there Wednesday. Kurtsinger returns here in time to fill Friday engagements. John F. Schorr, widely known trainer, and Mrs. Schorr, are the guests of Marion T. Miller. Schorr is without horses at present, but expects to become connected with a leading western stable. The veteran Earl Pool had his first mount of the meeting when he ride F. P. Letelliers Squaw Lady in the second race Monday. Nominations for the Latonia Derby and the six supporting stakes to be offered during the Latonia meeting, which gets under way May 23. close Wednesday. According to word received from Russell Sweeney, resident manager, the leading three-year-olds of M. L. Schwartz sold his stable and breeding stock farm, with the exception of Bold Venture, at public auction last year. He was present for the Derby running with Mrs. Schwartz and they received the ,000 gold trophy from Gov. A. B. Chandler. Just before the Hopeful last summer the New York sportsman refused an ofer in excess of SoO.OOO for the son of St. Germans. Stout was not injured in his fall from Granville and was upon his feet almost instantly and after the race walked back to the jockeys quarters. Granville was not injured and followed the field around the track. His accident was a great blow to his many followers, as he had been extensively supported in the future wagering.
