WATONGA, away well bu. outrun early, worked his way forward through the field, was steered to the outside in the stretch, forged to the front in the last stages and won drawing away. ALMAC. never f..r back and saved early, responded fast after three-quarters, took command entering the stretch, gave way to the winner, but held on well. GRANIA moved up fast after five eighths, tired after offering a bold bid midway of the stretch and pulled up lame. STEAL1NGAWAY took command under hustling tactics, gave way after five-sixteenths, came again in the stretch and finished well. SANTERNO. shuffled back soon after ti 1 start, was forced to lose ground when improving his position and closed with a rush. LISTENING showed little. PASTRY weakened after improving his position.
