» FIRST MINSTREL WORKS WELL BALTIMORE, Md., May 7.— First Minstrel, the Greentree Stables candidate for the Dixie Handicap, was given his final trial for the event this morning by trainer Marshall Lilly being sent a mile and an eighth in 1:56% handily. Well rated all the way, the veteran son of Royal Minstrel went the first half mile in :49, three-quarters in 1:15%, and the mile in 1:42. George Tappen had the Wheatley Stables Preakness candidate, Teufel, out for an easy trial at seven furlongs, the son of Diavolo going the first half mile in :50 seconds; three-quarters in 1:1673 and full distance in 1:29. He was under strong restraint all the way. The Belair Studs Granville and Merry Pete were given leisurely gallops. ,
