Y., May 7.— Indications are that there will be a small field for the Excelsior Handicap at Jamaica, Saturday. From the thirty-four nominated for the running, it is possible that not more than half a dozen will accept the weights for the mile and a sixteenth gallop. Of these, Psychic Bid, from the Brookmeade Stable of Mrs. Isabel Dodge Sloan, is probably best. The son of Chance Play and Queen Herod is in nicely under 114 pounds, and he has shown readiness for the running. Robert S. Clarks Malbrouk, under 105 pounds, is a possibility, and it is probable that William iBrennan will give either Memory Book or Brush Hook, from the Greentree Stable, an-! other chance in the running. C. H. "Pat" Knebelkamps King Saxon, winner of the same running last year, is only a possibility, for the son of Saxon is nothing like the horse he was at the same time last year. Mrs. William Ziegler, Jr.s Esposa and R. A. Moores Thursday have trained well for the race, and they are ex-| pected to be of the company, and there is better than a chance that Stotler will go after the prize, with A. G. Vanderbilts Good Harvest. There have been no definite announce-Iments by any of the trainers with eligibles, but it appears moderately certain that Psy-ichic Bid, Esposa, Thursday and Good Har-vest, at least, will be sent to the post. The Rosedale Stakes for the juvenile fil-j lies and a companion number for the last day of sport at Jamaica is chiefly attractive for the reason that it promises to bring out Mrs. W. A. Bridges unbeaten filly, Goldey F., for her first New York appearance. This sensational filly that sold for 50 at the Saratoga yearling auctions last August, climaxed her unbeaten record by winning the Aberdeen Stakes at the Havre de Grace meeting in Maryland, and since that running has been trained for this filly prize. The Excelsior is of ,000 added, while the Rosedale has just half that value. . A "
