VETERAN TURF OFFICIAL DIES NEW YORK, N. Y., May 7— Frank T. Clarke, 83-year-old veteran turfman, died at his home, Brooklyn, N. Y., as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Miami last winter. Funeral services will be held in Brooklyn on Saturday night at 8:00 p. m., and interment will be on Sunday. He is survived by his widow and one daughter. Clarke was track superintendent at Jerome Park, went to Sheepshead Bay in 1880 in the same capacity and was with that track until it was closed. In later years he was a member of starter Geo. Cassidys track force and handled the recall flag.
