WHO SAID, much the best, took the lead right at the break, was rated in front and drew away when ready. FLODUR was away tardily, was hard hustled to reach contention, then faltered when punished in the final three-sixteenths. NOIR LIGHT improved his position gradually while saving ground, but attempted to bear out in the last seventy yards and it cost him second place. BLAZING TORCH had speed for a half mile, then tired. CAPTAIN LOGAN, off quickly, set the pace under .steadying restraint, responded well when given his head in the last quarter and was never in danger thereafter. BARCARDI SWEEP trailed for a half mile, made up ground rapidly on the outside thereafter, but was no match for the winner. FLAT ROCK moved up in menacing fashion approaching the final quarter, but faltered in the drive. VAN HASTINGS forced the pace for five-eighths and tired. The latter was off fast, was hard ridden while setting the pace and held on with good courage. BACK LOG saved ground all the way and showed a good effort. INDIANTOWN raced evenly throughout. EMIGRANTE improved her position swiftly after losing ground racing wide most of the way. LAIRD raced EPERNAY into submission in the first half mile, then tired. EPERNAY was through after a half mile.
