BOSCOBEL, away well, had speed to take a short lead in the back stretch, shook off SOLID while saving ground and held SUGAR JAR safe in the drive. The latter, always well placed, made a bold bid through the stretch, but was not good enough. HANNAH ANNE gradually bettered her position and finished stoutly on the inside. THE MINER lacked early speed, but finished stoutly between horses. THERMAL raced evenly. SOLID quit after showing speed. UVIRA could never engage the leaders. ARDAWN quit. NELL KUHLMAN was never a factor. GOVERNOR BILL never threatened. IRISH ENVOY, under stout restraint for a turn of the field, moved into close contention without difficulty, wore down the leaders easily and drew out with much in reserve. YORK MILLER, under stout restraint for one turn of the field, moved into command on the final turn, but could not withstand the bid of the winner. FOREMAST, racing kindly and under wraps, stumbled while running on the flat after one mile, recovered and finished stoutly. MR. PECK made a bid at the sixth hurdle, took command for a quarter mile, but tired. PIPERS SON" established the early lead, but tired when challenged. SPRING MOON had good speed to set a fast early pace, but tired in the last eighth. QUICKLY forced the fast pace of SPRING MOON, but tired from her efforts. ABBATORO wss outrun throughout. FAIR ELISE, fastest away, was taken under restraint, moved up fast on the final turn, but was no match for the winner. NOISETTE, always in a contending position, turned in a good effort but could not improve her position. NOTROUBLE raced evenly and finished well. QUEENS COLOR could not menace the leaders. TRICKYS SON, rated close to the pace from the start, circled the leaders in the stretch to take command within the eighth post, drew clear but had to be hard urged to stall off the challenge of LADY MARNOCK. Tlie latter, taken back from the leaders on the back stretch, responded well through the stretch and finished very fast and was wearing the winner down. CEASELESS established a short lead in the early racing, gave way to FEZ entering the stretch, but came o nagain at the end. The latter had nice speed from the start, took command entering the stretch and hung on well. DISTRACT could not enter serious contention.
