WESTERN HILL HANDICAP Heads Attractive Program for First Saturday of River Downs Meet. Mucho Gusto and Seabiscuit Head List of Eleven Good Campaigners Carded to Meet at One and One-Sixteenth Miles. CINCINNATI, Ohio, Oct 2. A real attractive program topped by the ,500 added Western Hill Handicap has been arranged for the first Saturday of the River Downs meeting tomorrow. Eleven superb handicap stars were named for the feature which will be run over one mile and a sixteenth. Although Mrs. Kirby Ramseys Mucho Gusto, winner of the Peabody Memorial and Lincoln Fields Handicaps and Mrs. C. S. Howards Seabiscuit, which annexed the Governors and De La Salle Handicaps at Detroit, will probably share favoritism, some of the eligibles, whose records are less impressive, have a royal chance of turning back this pair, which will carry the top burden of 116 pounds each. Dusty Dawn, which follows the pair under 114 pounds, was not very successful In his I New England invasion. He has always shown a preference for the River Downs track and in the event he shows the form that carried him to stakes victory at Latonia, should prove a stubborn foe. Mrs. James Chcsneys pair, Cristate and Professor Paul: Prince Fellow, narrowly beaten in the Inaugural Handicap, T. D. Buhls Gyral and Paradisical also are capable of earning the winners portion of the purse, while Mary-nell, under 100 pounds should not be overlooked. Safe and Sound and Just Frank complete the field, the former was a factor in much of the handicaps during the Detroit season. SUPPORTING FEATURE. Supporting the feature is the Autumn: Purse, which will be run as the sixth event and the Golden Rod, which has been assigned fourth place on the card. The feature, will be run as the fifth. Nine sprinters were named for the Autumn, a six furlongs dash, while two-year- olds meet at that distance in the Golden Rod. Hiss Monoa, winner of her last race at Detroit, her stablemate Unencumbered, and Windshield will carry the top impost of 109 pounds. Opposing this trio are such ! stars as Compensatory, Don Creole, Silas and others. Oddesa Girl, which finished third in the Lassie Stakes and the Saltan Cup, is among the field named for the Golden Rod. It will serve as a trial for the Queen City Handicap, the feature of next Saturdays program. With the track returning to its best condition, it should be fast for the half holiday program and in the event of fair weather, the management expects a big crowd.
