f LINCOLN FIELDS TURF NOTES f $ and Apprentice Henry Hauer, currently serving a ten-day suspension for rough riding, will return to the saddle next Monday. With a shortage of apprentices here, Hauers return will be welcomed by horsemen. C. L. Lowenstein, connected with his uncle, Jake Lowenstein, during the season here, is seeking several horses for campaigning this winter. J. Harry Patterson, field representative of the Thoroughbred Horse Owners and Trainers Association, is winding up the Lincoln Fields affairs of that association and will be leaving for southern racing points within a few days. Thomas C. Worden is expected back from New York Saturday to see Legenda carry his colors in the Joliet Handicap, Saturdays juvenile fixture. Jockey Harold Beasy, having completed a five-day suspension for disobedience at the post, returned to the saddle Friday. In a private deal at Lincoln Fields Friday W. C. Fox sold Merry Freda to R. Schimel-pfenig. The Shady Brook Farm horses of T. E. Mueller of Louisville, will get away from here Sunday for Lexington, according to trainer George Brooks. The string consists of Visigoth, Chauvenet, Skalkahoe, Incognito, Daysend and Overtrick. Jockey George South has been engaged to ride Brownell Combs Myrtlewood in her match race at River Downs with Miss Merriment next Thursday. South received word to this effect Friday from R. A. Kindred, trainer of the mare. C. Bruce Head, general manager of Lincoln Fields, was confined to his quarters in the clubhouse Friday because of illness which, however, was not believed to be of a serious nature. Lily Maid, Snow Queen, Recussion and Brook Trout, owned by A. B. Hancock, will be transferred to Lexington Sunday by trainer A. Baker.
