EYE JAY took command immediately, gave way to the winner nearing the final half mile and responded to strong handling, but tired in the late stages. PAR-QUEEN, away slowly, moved up fast the opening quarter, was sent to the outside approaching, the stretch, responded to strong urging when reaching the lead and won with something left. FLAMING TORCH, a strong factor throughout, held on well. FROSTED RAIN, fractious but away fast, drew clear rapidly, saved ground throughout, but tired fast after relinquishing the lead. ERINS SUN had no mishaps. GLADSOME raced on the inside throughout. HENRY M. fell and rolled over before the start, began from outside of the stalls and raced wide. BURL was done after a half mile. ODDESA CLARK, fractious but away well, moved up fast after a half mile and held on gamely. ABERCROMBIE raced evenly. WISE CROSS had no mishaps. MISS DOLLY quit. LADY HAZEL was outrun. Winner entered to be claimed for HflO. WENT TO POST 3:17. AT POST minute. Start good and slow. Won driving; second and third the same. JUST MARIE, closest to the early pace, came to the outside in the stretch and, wearing down CALCULUS inside the final eighth, just lasted to hold McLEAY safe. The latter, weakly ridden, broke fast, was taken back off the pace, was put to punishment in the final seventy yards and would have won with a better ride. PLUNGING SUN, away slowly and far back early, closed with a rush in the stretch and was going gamely at the end. THISTLE NIRA showed a good effort. CALCULUS quit badly. Scratched 34306RoseIake, 109. HAPPY VENTURE took command shortly after the start, quickly raced BRIGHT FLOWER into defeat, drew away into a long lead on the lower turn and, holding on gamely, held TITLE STAR safe. The latter away slowly and forced to race wide all the way, closed gamely in the stretch and was going well at the end FOMPARIA, well placed in the early running, came through on the inside in the stretch in the deepest going next to the rail and tired slightly in the last sixteenth. OUTSIDE forced the early pace, took a good lead on the lower turn, held on gamely in the drive, but was not good enough. BABY PRINCESS, close up early, raced wide on the lower turn, came on again in the stretch and held on well. WINDY ROSS, close up for the first five-eighths, tired slightly in the last eighth. ERIN LAD, closest to the early pace, saved ground all the way. took a good lead in the stretch and, while holding on well, could not withstand the winner. MISS FIREFLY, outrun early, worked her way up in the stretch and finished well. MARY CARMEN lacked early speed, moved into contention entering the stretch, but tired in the last eighth. The latter, far back early, moved up steadily on the inside, finished gamely, but was not good enough. POMPOHONE, sent into the lead at the first turn, was rated along in front for three-quarters, raced wide entering the stretch and was tiring at the end. DEVILISH NICK moved into contention on the outside during the run through the back stretch, was carried wide by the leaders entering the stretch and tired in the final eighth.
