MARIATO improved his position steadily from a slow beginning, came to the outside of the leaders entering the stretch, finished fast and was drawing away at the end. BLOOD slipped through on the inside entering the stretch, made a determined bid when called upon, but hung at the finish. IDENTICAL was weakly handled all the way and overcame interference, then finished on his own courage. DESTINED showed early speed and had no mishaps. BRAVADO, close to the pace from the start, had no mishaps in the run ning. COUNT UP finished wcU. MONEY MUDDLE began slowly. SILVER LAGOON quit under urging. BUTTERMILK, in near pursuit of the pace from the start, made a determined bid when called upon, but was not good enough. SIR RANDOLPH dwelt at the start, but moved up fast, was trying to bear out at the stretch turn and made up some ground at the end; his rider fell off after the finish. CHILCA moved up when called upon at the far turn from a slow beginning and then faltered in the stretch. NIPPONESE had no mishaps. VICKSON was outrun all the way. Overweight Vickson, 4 pounds. Won driving; second and third easily. PRIVILEGED was taken under restraint in the early running, was roused sharply rounding the stretch turn, wore down ZOSTERA and was drawing away at the end. ZOSTERA was rushed into the lead after the break, showed high early speed, came wide entering the stretch, but swerved to the inside in the stretch and held on well. YOUR HONOR moved up with a rush when calld upon, made a determined bid inside the quarter post, but faltered at the finish. CORAMINE swerved badly when called upon in the stretch run. NIGHT BUD dwelt at the start and was away slowly. He made up considerable ground. WINNING CHANCE showed a cood effort. BARON GRAY had no mishaps in the running. SEABISCUIT, clear of interference, worked his way up steadily, responded gamely when straightened out in the stretch and wore down JESTING in the final strides. The latter moved up with a rush nearing the far turn, bore over and caused a jam, in which SGT. BYRNE and SNOW FOX were the principal sufferers, drew away and then faltered in the final drive. PICCOLO, from a slow start, improved his position on the inside, saved much ground coming for home and finished well. STEEL CUTTER was cased back at the first turn, improved his position and finished well after being bothered near the far turn. WHA HAE was rushed into command after the break, showed speed under restraint, but quit badly at the end. PRINCE ABBOT was cased back going to the first turn, slipped through on the inside and made up ground at the end. EMILEO was moving up gamely near the far turn when bothered and forced back. ESPOSA lost ground rounding the stretch turn. SGT. BYRNE was knocked off his stride at the far turn and then quit badly thereafter. EXHIBIT quit under urging.
