Seagram stable, headed by Stand Pat, one of the ranking candidates for the 5,000 added Waggoner Memorial Handicap, to be run on November 14, arrived from Toronto and was in charge as the Seagram horses went through training paces Friday morning. Gilpin looks for Seagram to come here for the handicap. The stable of Mrs. R. J.. Murphy, which ranked among the leading money winners at Epsom Downs, arrived from Houston and will lose no time swinging into operations here. It comprises twelve, including Iceberg, Lucy, Jawapa, Spanish Red, Ima Greenock and Stepinanna. Edward McCuan, with Royal Command. Gray Jack, Scrip Money, Wanda Gable and four others, with J. L. Wilsons Greybroom, were reported arrivals from Epsom Downs. George Keeton, another whose horses participated in the Epsom Downs meeting, is on the scene with Board Trade, Bistrita, Frost Bite, Triolet, Irish Wake and Emi-grante. Jockeys M. Knight and H. Manifold were belated arrivals from the far West, Knight coming from Vancouver and Manifold from Nebraska, where he visited his parents. William F. Lutz has registered Bereit, Bill Lutz, Arthur Coventry, Lester P., and Lady Trust and additions to the stable will be received at the conclusion of the River Downs meeting. His father, Eugene Lutz, will campaign Almadel, Dorothy Hicks, Heavy Sugar, Sun Idol, Sweet Thing and Come Home through the local meeting. 1 The locally owned Blue Ribbon Stock Farm, which had a successful campaign at Epsom Downs will bid for its share of honors here with Strange Times, Dixie Fox. The Jurist, Lunsford, Caleb, Here On, Aura and Porcellus. John A. Best, Memphis turfman who won an American Derby with Reveille Boy, started the Arlington Downs session with only three horses. They are One Night, Custer Boy and Curb Bit Marion Allen, an Arlington regular has Born Lucky, Brides Delight, Aurebon, Quasimodo, Highomar, Her Gold and Easy Sailing on the grounds. Stewards Tom Sanf ord and -Tom J. Brown, of Epsom Downs, plan to spend several days at Arlington Downs next week, leaving Houston probably Tuesday. The pretentious stable of Mark T. Cox, Wyoming sportsman and breeder, was shipped to Arlington Downs Thursday evening with jockey Bobby Haber accompanying the outfit. M. H. Morrison, racing secretary at Riverside Park, stopped off for the opening, en route to the coast for the Bay Meadows meeting. While here he learned that several stables racing here plan to campaign at Bay Meadows, where Morrison serves as racing secretary and placing judge. Jockeys Wayne Wright and Charles Cor-bett wired that they would be here in time to accept mounts Monday. Wright is reporting to A. A. Baroni and Corbett to the A. Pelleteri-Millsdale Stable. Harry T. Fleming, agent for the Long Run Stable, is making the engagements for apprentice J. OBrien, whose contract was purchased by the Long Run Stable from L. K. Wilkerson, of Louisville, several weeks ago. OBrien, a native of Louisville, can do 101 pounds. A division of Clarence E. Davisons big stable was expected from Sportsmans Park. Pharosay, an inteded starter in the West Texas Handicap, heads the shipment. Jockey Joseph Howard Gordon, who received fatal injuries in a training accident at Arlington Downs Tuesday, made his bow as a rider at Oriental Park, Havana, in 1925. He has ridden at many tracks, principally smaller ones, and last year suffered a fractured shoulder in a fall at Dayton, from which he had never fully recovered. He was born in Pittsburgh, thirty-one years ago. Jockey C. E. Allen, who came .in Saturday from Rockingham Park, reports that O. L. Fosters big string en route from the New Hampshire track is due early Sunday. Another of the more useful strings here is that trained by Mark T. Cox, who is campaigning San Luis Rey, Sir Ridgway, Whiscenda, Bonsall, Moane Keala, Eskimo, Topsy Omar, Cocktail Time, Wyoming Maid, Robinhood, Topsy Behave and Move Away.
