! P0MP00N BRILLIANT IN 1 MUDDY TRACK WORKOUT j PAWTUCKET, R. I., Oct 24. Pompoon, champion of the two-year-old division and winner of the rich Futurity at Belmont Park early in the month, gave horsemen and work-watchers at Narragansett Park thi3 morning a further line on his ability when he turned in a brilliant mile in 1:40 over a muddy track. It- was a standout trial and one which says Jerry Louchheims colt is right one edge for the mile and seventy yards New England Futurity, the 5,000 stake which i3 set for decision next Wednesday. With George Seabo in the saddle the Pompey Oonagh youngster went the first quarter in :24. three-eighths in :35, half in :48, five-eighths in 1:01 and three-quarters in 1:14. Ocean Roll was the only other Futurity candidate to work. Admiral Graysons Virginia-bred son of Strolling Player and Rough Sea failed to show as impressively as Pom-peon when he went a mile in 1:43,
