t RIVER DOWNS TURF NOTES I e - James Collins, owner of Collinsbrook Farm Stable, and John Anhut, whose horses race under the Imperial Farm colors, stopped off for the half-holiday sport en route to their Detroit homes. George Krehbiel, turf expert for the De-, troit News, graced the half-holiday sport with his presence. He is en route to the Motor City from the Lexington sales. Tho divisions of the J. Spencer and R. L. Stivers stables which were sent to Keene-land were returned here Sunday. Yantis, Cherokee Red and Glowset will be sent to Churchill Downs, Tuesday, where they will join several others that race for the R. L. Baker estate. Paul Carmen, Washington Court House sportsman, and Frank. Woodland of Columbus, were present for the half-holiday program. Wayne Allshouse, under whose direction the many improvements were made at River Downs and Thistle Down, came from tho latter track, where he is supervising additional work. He was joined by Al Mormile, Cleveland horticultural expert, under whose direction both plants were beautified. Bender First, winner of his last two races, has been added to tho schooling list, while Glowset was removed therefrom. J. C. Cahn is shipping the Summit View Stable to Arlington Downs, Sunday. Mose Goldblatt, widely known Cincinnati owner, was prpsent .for the half-holiday. sport. He stated he shipped the several horses ho had at Keeneland to Churchill Downs to await the opening at that point Capucho and Chilkat, which he purchased from C. V. Whitney, also were sent from Lexington to the Louisville track. P. J. Van will transfer his horses to California after the close of this meeting. Jockey E. J. Kelley, who was injured when tossed from Doctor C. N. last week, had his first mount of th,e,meeting; Saturday... x ,
