EMPIRE CITY TURF N0TES , Jockey R. Kopel signified his intention of leaving for Narragansett Park to ride. Jockey L. Pichon said that he will leave here for San Francisco at the conclusion of this meeting. Jockey Wayne Wright completed arrangements to fly to Arlington Downs after the fifth race Saturday. .-""v Fred Smith accepted his first mount since recovering from the flu. John Hertz was a week-end visitor and said his horses would be shipped to Pimlico for that meeting and then to Columbia, S. C, for the winter. Walter M. Jeffords will winter his horses at Columbia. S. C, this winter in charge of Preston Burch. This will mark a departure from the annual custom of winter at the farm in Maryland. George Coburn returned from Lexington, Ky., where he attended the yearling sales. Previous to the running of the first race trainer J. P.
