JENS SON, close to the pace from the start, got through on the Inside entering the stretch to catch JOCKWELL an eighth out and held the latter to the end in a drive. JOCKWELL raced wide while making his move, but took a short lead in the stretch and went fairly well to the end. GUILDER was well up from the start and showed a good effort. TENACE was also going well at the end. LOOKABOUT was in close quarters early and was never dangerous. LEONIE could not keep up. CANTRIP was never a contender. GUARANTY quit badly. UPPERMOST helped HAPPY BOLIVAR set the pace and, going gamely to the end, won narrowly in a drive. HAPPY BOLIVAR was always close up and, although forced to race wide in the stretch, barely missed. EXHIBIT got through an opening of the leaders on the stretch turn to assume an advantage, but although saving ground in the stretch, could not last. SILK MASK was In close quarters twice in the early running and was forced to take back, then came to the outside In the stretch and was going well at the end. ASYOUWERE was outrun to the last quarter, then came to the outside to wear down AMERICAN EMBLEM in the stretch and, getting to the front in the last fifty yards, won going away. The later was never far away and caught DISTRIBUTE in the stretch to take a short lead, but although going well to the end was not good enough for the winner. DISTRIBUTE opened up a good lead while making the pace, but tired in the stretch. BORSODI closed ground. FLASHING COLORS tired after making a brief move on the stretch turn. BRIGHT PAM had the most early speed and saved ground in the stretch, but was not good enough for the winner. MERELY finished well. FAIR LAY tired in the stretch. TORO MAK raced wide on the first turn and was never a dangerous contender. RARE BEN raced to the outside fence on the first turn and dropped out of it. The latter was always well up and caught JUNIOR CONARD in the last eighth, but could not resist the winner. DIANE S. was never far away and finished well. JUNIOR CONARD squeezed through an opening on the inside around the first turn to take command and raced PASS UP into defeat, but tired near the end. GLAD SANTA was bumped and forced wide on the first turn. PASS UP quit badly after going three-quarters. Scratched 37273 Harry Richman, 106.
