ROSTER OF OMAHA OFFICIALS M. L. Nathanson Presiding Steward, With Eeeder Associate, Racing Secretary and Handicapper. OMAHA, Neb., April 10? With the exception of a veterinarian and a manager of its pari-mutuel room, Ak-Sar-Ben has Its key off icials" for the 1937 racing meeting under contract for the program scheduled from May 27 to July 5. Chairman W. H. Schellberg Saturday announced the appointment of John Maluvius, Los Angeles, as cleric of scales and placing judge, and R. Lovett, San Antonio, as patrol judge and supervisor of identification. Maluvius comes here from Tanforan, where he Is serving as assistant racing secretary to Julius Reeder, general manager and racing secretary of the J. W. Marchbank plant. Lovett has been officiating at southern tracks and comes to Omaha well recommended by racing men. The present line-up of officials lists Martin L. Nathanson as presiding steward; Julius Reeder as associate steward, racing secretary and handicapper; Jack Hodgins as starter; Benjamin Holmes as assistant racing secretary and placing judge; John Maluvius as clerk of scales and placing judge; A. J. Heffernan as supervisor of registration and placing judge; R. Lovett as patrol judge and supervisor of identification; C. B. Marlman as paddock and patrol judge; Eugene Schwartz and Otto Torrell as timers and identification assistants; Buddy Glass as custodian of jockey room; N. Alford as custodian of racing colors. The man who made off with top purse winnings at the 1936 meeting, Lonnie Copen-haver, is the latest West Coast owner to reserve stall space. Hes bringing twenty-five horses. They are: Khayyam, Silver Kiev, Sky Breeze, Royal Wave, Dunlin Lady, Rose Camp, Primrose Day, Newsman, Mo-hac. Gateway, Zevar, Shasta Boy, Shasta Slipper, Shasta Lark, Gaillardia, Storm, High Tension, Humorous, Loafer, Blindfold, Tris-trap, Skeeter Hawk, Red Casino, Wardell and Lady Torchilla.
