ROBERTA, a strong factor from the start, took command approaching the stretch, gave way in the drive, but held on gamely. SIR THOMAS, fast to stait but unable to keep up, was put to strong urging in the stretch and finished well. ALWIN-TOUR tired. CLARIFY tired after reaching the lead. The latter, unable to improve its early position, responded fast in the stretch and finished strongly. IMPERIAL MARYAN, well up from the start and in close quarters in the stretch, held on well. POMPOUS GENIE chief cause of the delay but away fast, improved his position after five-eighths and was wearing the leaders down at the end. PROPOSING made up ground. MISS FIREFLY tired. MARS SHIELD, shuffled back early, moved up fast on the outside after a half mile, forged to the front nearing the final quarter, was unable to draw clear and tired near the end. HEELFLY, fractious and away slowly, was hustled to the lead, increased his advantage after five-sixteenths, held on gamely when challenged and tired near the end. EASTPORT dropped back early, improved his position rapidly when guided to the inside for the drive and finished well. BROWN PRODIGY tired. SUN PILOT was unable to keep up. PALAN was outrun.
