1 BOWIE TURF NOTES S 5 Schooling will be started at Pimlico on Monday when E. S. Welter will-hold classes from the. six furlongs chute. Frances P. Dunne and John B. Campbell, officials at all tracks on the metropolitan tracks in New York, departed immediately after the final race Saturday to prepare for the opening of Jamaica. Marshall Cassidy, steward representing the New York Racing Commission, who has been serving as steward at Bowie, also left for New York following the last race Saturday. Word reached here of the sudden death of starter Joe Nelson, who dispatched the fields at Alamo Downs and other tracks. Death took place in San Antonio, Texas, while awaiting trial on narcotic charges. Jockey Hubert Le Blanc, leading rider at the recent meeting of the Gables Racing Association at Tropical Park and one of the leaders at the session at Bowie, will lose his apprentice allowance on April 18. A. Schmidl, another youngster enjoying the five-pound allowance, will become a full-fledged rider on April 15. Fourteen horses that are being trained by L. A. Brusie will be shipped to Narragansett Park Sunday.
