TWENTY-FOUR IN TEXAS DERBY Milky Way Farm Eepresented by Seven Eligibles. 5,000 Feature at Arlington Downs Attracts Nineteen Colts and Geldings and Five Fillies. ARLINGTON, Texas, April 10. Nineteen colts and geldings and five fillies were nominated for the fifth running of the 5,000 added Texas Derby, which will be run over nine furlongs at Arlington Downs next Saturday. Topped by Reaping Reward, the Milky Way Farms stable of Mrs. Ethel V. Mars is represented in the list of nominations by seven eligibles. Others named by the Chicago sportswoman, whose horses were the leading money winners of 1936 are Case Ace, Arlington Futurity winner; Military, which finished second in the Santa Anita Derby; Nations Trade, winner of the Hyde Park Stakes; Minstrel Show, Jaw Breaker, and Mars Shield. DEFEATED rOMrOON. Reaping Reward, second choice in the winter book quotations on the Kentucky Derby won the New England Futurity, the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes, The United Hotel Stakes and finished fourth in the Hawthorne Juvenile Stakes. In his New England victory he triumphed over Pompoon, which was considered by a majority of turf writers as the leading two-year-old of the year. However, the poll was taken before Reaping Reward came into prominence through his smashing triumphs in the New England Futurity and Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes. Heelfly, a winner of three races last year and the hope of E. Paul and Guy L. Waggoner for Kentucky Derby honors, is the lone representative from the Three Ds Stock Farm stable. Parrishs colors into second place back of Columbiana in the Widener Challenge Cup; Rifted Clouds, winner of the Washington Park Juvenile Stakes, and My Tommie, winner of ten races last year, are others to be considered.
