Outsiders had a field day at the Fox Valley Jockey Clubs course here this afternoon accounting for a majority of the seven events staged before a goodsized week day gathering of racing j fans fansA A Chicago victory resulted in the running of the Bloomington Claiming Purse six fur ¬ longs sprint featuring the program which held sixth position when B Skoellers Boil ¬ ing Point staged a great stretch drive to take the measure of Mrs W Parges Jim McConnell by the margin of a head while Mrs J Baintons Black Peter was four lengths farther back in third place at the conclusion of the contest contestUnder Under the guidance of Paul Ryan also a native of the Windy City Boiling Point was extended to the limit to achieve victory but the bay son of Bubbling Over Belittin dis ¬ played beyond question that he possessed courage It required a courageous effort to reduce the lead that Jim McConnell main tained as the field headed for the finish line Jim McConnell displayed a high turn of early speed and Ryan was quick to realize that his mount was incapable of outrunning the Cotlogomor offspring so he took a snug hold of Boiling Point in hope that the fast pace set by Jim McConnell in such footing that prevailed would cause him to crack crackEXCITING EXCITING DUEL However Jim McConnell did not let go as Boiling Point charged down the stretch and it was an exciting duel during the last sixteenth of the dash the early pacemaker straining every sinew in an effort to retain an advantage and the challenger doing like ¬ wise wiseWithin Within the shadow of the finish mark Boiling Point had his muzzle in front and in a last great stride lunged across the tape a head in front It was by far the most thrilling finish provided during the after ¬ noon and brought the spectators to their feet feetAgain Again sprinters monopolized the program competing in six of the seven contests of ¬ fered over a heavy track which is likely to be vastly improved within the next two days should However the contesting thoroughbreds again I matched strides over a heavy course j Ideal weather conditions existed and this i was instrumental in the increase of the patronage With bright skies and a balmy j sun racing fans flocked to the Kane County i course for an afternoon of sport and in return were treated to some interesting i racing racingThough Though six of the races were dashes five of which had the claiming clause attached with the others being given over to maiden twoyearolds in a special weights affair racing as good as could be expected under the existing conditions resulted The fifth on the card was the only event over a dis ¬ tance of ground bringing together a field of seven for a trip of a mile and seventy yards The opening race which brought together a field of six maiden twoyearolds resulted i in a close and stirring finish with Diamond I L Stables Bottom Row gaining the decision 1 over Oddesa Lad by a neck to graduate from the ranks of nonwinners War Jest finished in third place placeLOWES LOWES GOOD HIDE HIDECompetently Competently ridden by the veteran Bill i j Lowe Radio Stables Safe Porte came from behind after straightening into the stretch to account for major honors in the second dash of the day which was at five and one half furlongs Though the brown geldings advantage was three lengths Lowe did not j take any chances of being headed off and i whipped down to the finish Donna Marza finished second and third money was gath ¬ ered in by Hildur Queen A G Tarns Moonsan came through with one of his best performances to gain the decision in tha third event a five and one half furlongs spin for platers when he came from behind to defeat Dorsays in handy fashion Luteen came from far back to annex the short end of the purse As cus ¬ tomary Dorsays displayed his flash of early speed and opened up a lead of four lengths quickly The bay gelding appeared to have the situation under control as he raced along the inside rail turning for home with a margin of five lengths over Tarns color bearer At this juncture however Dorsays began to fly the flag of distress and Moon ¬ san gained steadily to reach the front in the final sixteenth Backers of Moonsan took down 23 for wagers on the front end endDR DR JILLSON THROUGHOUT THROUGHOUTComing Coming through with a good performance Mrs C Eames Dr Jillson led five rivals from flag fall to finish in the fourth event a six furlongs affair and earned the decision by a length and onehalf over Love Lost Flying Cherokee came up from the rear to finish in third position and well in advance of the other contestants Jockey Leonard Turner had the sevenyearold away with the leaders and immediately drew into a two lengths lead and while saving ground con ¬ tinued his triumphant march as Love Lost issued a challenge when headed for the wire The winner paid 880 880Mrs Mrs G L Tildens Captain Danger cap tured the only race at a long distance romp ¬ ing home four lengths in front of Habanero while Bistrita drew up in third place in the field of seven platers that traveled the mile and seventy yards route Bistrita and On ¬ slaught alternated at setting the pace for slightly more than a half mile then Captain Danger swiftly moved into command The j brown gelding literally ran away from his opponents as the threequarters mark was reached and fairly cantered down the lane paying 1720 for winning tickets of 2
