AMERICAN DERBY MEETING Looks Like Overflow Horse Colony at Popular Washington Park Horsemen Warned Not to Ship to Home wood Course Unless Their Reserva ¬ tions Are Approved After looking over stable reservations tot Washington Parks American Derby meet ¬ ing which opens two weeks from Monday May 24 racing secretary Charles McLennan issued a notice to all owners not to ship to the south side track unless their reserva ¬ tions have been acknowledged acknowledgedIt It is not unusual for Washington Park to have an overflow horse colony but the re ¬ quests for stall room according to McLen ¬ nan reminds him of the boom days of a few years ago Arrangements have been completed for additional stabling at Lincoln Fields and an improved van service will be put into operation operationA A number of early arriving stables already are quartered at the Homewood course and the trainers are expressing much satisfac ¬ tion over the new electric lighting equipment in the barns barnsMcLennan McLennan left Wednesday for Pimlico to confer with eastern owners over entries for Washington Park stakes Nominations close May 15 for the two Futurities and two daya later for the rich American Derby and the other stakes stakesMcLennan McLennan was in telephone communica ¬ tion with Sidney Brown at Louisville wlp reported that a majority of leading owne there for the Kentucky Derby had informed him that they would ship to Washington Park Both Brown and McLennan will come to Chicago next week to go over final de ¬ tails for the south side meeting
