ROYAL RAIMENT IMPRESSES Gray Daughter of Royal Minstrel Brocado Beats King Ranch Entry HIrsch Jacobs Establishes New Training TrainingRecord Record for Tear With Four Winners Winnersin in as Many Races NEW YORK N Y May 6 Royal Rai xnent the handsome gray daughter of Royal Minstrel and Brocado that races for John Hay Whitney was brought back to the races at Jamaica today by Big Jim Healy in a fashion to suggest that she will be a factor in the many filly stakes in which she is entered She raced six furlongs in 112 to win in hand over Dawn Play and Which print a pair that carried the silks of the King Ranch All three of these were making their first public appearance of the year and each is an eligible for the Coaching Club American Oaks to be decided at the Belmont Park meeting Other candidates for the same prize that were further back in the field were Howard W Maxwells Dizzy Dame and C V Whitneys Percent while fourth was the portion of Flyanetta from the Newtondale Stable which is not an eligibleHirsch eligible Hirsch Jacobs set a new record for train ¬ ers to shoot at when he saddled four win ¬ ners out of the same number of horses he gnt to the post to carry off the laurels of day and season seasonBEST BEST OFFERING OFFERINGThis This dash for the fillies was the best offering of the Metropolitan Jockey Club and it brought together nine of the best fillies of the year The start was a good one but Royal Raiment was so alert that she was soon racing along three lengths before the field Whichprint soon found her way into second place while Dawn Play in the early racing was in rather close quar ¬ ters on the rail and Flyanetta was showing her the way After Royal Raiment had added another length to her lead and was racing well within herself Gilbert took a I steadying hold of her head and thereafter she was at no time fully extended to have a j winning margin of six lengths It was on j the stretch turn that Dawn Play ran down her stablemate Whichprint and moved into second place She finished out strongly with no possible chance to catch the Royal Min ¬ strel miss and she had saved the place by a length lengthFlyanetta Flyanetta was another two lengths away to be fourth while Dizzy Dame and Percent had cut scant figure in the running While the score of Royal Raiment was a decidedly Ranch pair was good and each may be looked upon to improve over the showing showingSPEEDY SPEEDY MICROPHONE MICROPHONEMicrophone Microphone the swiftrunning son of Fly Ing Ebony which races for Mrs Ethel D Jacobs gave the silks a double when he was winner of the six furlongs dash for platers fourth on the card It was also the third consecutive victory at the meeting for the bid horse horseAs As in other races he smothered his field with his speed when he raced the distance in 111 to win by a couple of lengths over Dewey Benthams Abner which in turn just beat William H Berris Chief Cherokee half a length for the place and Knowing was fourth with Whizzaway the only other starter starterMrs Mrs Ethel D Jacobs Madonna by a game rush through the final furlong was just up to beat J B Partridges Crop in the opening six furlongs dash for cheap threeyearold platers and Mrs Lillian Byers Addis was a j close third before Cromarty I IThe The start in this was a bad one with Lucky Jean the favorite of the field vir ¬ tually left at the post Crop went away running and he was soon two lengths clear of the lot and Salavina was also one of the lucky ones at the break while Madonna and Cromarty were also in the front division divisionFINE FINE PERFORMANCE PERFORMANCESwift Swift Lad the son of Swift and Sure which races under the silks of M Marmorstein was winner of the mile and a sixteenth of the second race He took up top weight of 122 pounds but handled the impost well to win over Mrs W R Mizells Nipponese and Phillip Biebers Starwick readily took third from Risotto The only other starter was White Sand SandHirsch Hirsch Jacobs saddled his third winner of the day when he sent out B G Guths Al Neiman in the mile and a sixteenth of the fifth race to have him win all the way This also gave Wayne Wright a double for he had ridden Microphone to victory in the pre ¬ vious contest contestIn In this Wright went right out with Al Neiman from the break and he never sur ¬ rendered the lead to be the winner by five lengths The place went to J M Zimmers Galloping and third was the portion of High ¬ est Point with High Mongul fourth fourthAt At the end of the card there came the third winner for Mrs Ethel D Jacobs and the fourth saddled by her husband Hirsch Jacobs when Narise raced away from the cheap ones racing a mile and a sixteenth to win all the way Fred J Thompsons Spar tan Lady raced to the place and Philip Biebers Peaceful was third thirdJohn John R and Mrs Macomber were arrivals from Boston and watched with interest the training moves of their horses during the jearly hours Thursday at Belmont Park ParkJockey Jockey Eddie Yager was engaged by George Odom to ride Marshall Fields Sir Damion in the Derby and the boy left after the fourth race
