OFF DAY AT SUFFOLK DOWNS Hot Weather Affects Attendance and Play in Mutuels Stretch Rush of Brown Prodigy Results In InVictory Victory for Silks of Mrs T Marshall Jockey Hightshoe Claims Foul BOSTON Mass June 1 Mrs T Mar shalls Brown Prodigy came charging up the stretch with a tremendous burst of lastmin ¬ ute speed to take the measure of Mrs V Wyses Gallant Eagle in the Hyde Park Claiming Purse which featured a sultry day of sport at Suffolk Downs this afternoon at the end of the mile and a sixteenth event Mrs F Langebartels Prince Sador well placed from the start was third He finished a length back of Gallant Eagle and two and a half lengths in front of Holluschickie The latter ran a remarkable race Usually a front runner he was caught napping at the post and was virtually left However he charged past horses in rapid order on the back stretch Had he broken well he might have won the heat but getting to the leaders took too much out of him himGenaibi Genaibi and Prince Sador set the early pace Approaching the far turn the latter went to a clear lead and increased it around the turn appearing a winner as they straightened out for home Meanwhile Freddie Schieh had been rating Brown Prod ¬ igy fourth At the eighth post he began the movement that resulted in victory He raced past the leaders caught Prince Sador at the sixteenth post and drew away in the final yards to win easily Prince Sador tired at the end and Gallant Eagle passed him to take the place award awardThe The race was run over a lightning fast track in 145 145Hightshoe Hightshoe who rode the runnerup claimed a foul against the winner but it was quickly dismissed by the stewards stewardsThe The terrific heat continued today and a merciless sun beat down on perspiring fans Betting was light as might be expected to ¬ day and the sport was featureless and fol ¬ lowed on the heels of two holiday programs wheri considerable money went through the machines
