BLACK WELL SILKS IN FRONT Termison Graduates in Opening OpeningContest Contest at Riverside Eight EightRaces Races on Good Program KANSAS CITY Mo June 1 Maiden two yearolds furnished the competition in the opening race and seven of that age went postward to compete over five furlongs Termison from the Texasowned stable of Dr J A Blackwell proved winner in a driv ¬ ing finish over the firsttime starter Lucky Cargo with Jenny Witch easily taking the minor portion of the purse from the tiring Ellaway EllawayFrom From a good start Ellaway was the first to show in front but was quickly displaced by Lucky Cargo and this youngster went out to make a runaway of the race drawing away into a threelength lead on the lower turn Termison had moved up into the con ¬ tending position and was gaining steadily in the stretch Lucky Cargo commenced to tire and inside the final sixteenth Termison had drawn up on even term with him but it was not until inside the seventyyard pole that the winner succeeded in taking com ¬ mand and was increasing his lead steadily until at the end he crossed the line a half length in the van Lucky Cargo easily held the balance safe safeEight Eight races made up Tuesdays program at Riverside Park and evenly matched fields paraded to the post in the majority of the races The track was at its best and the weather ideal for the program After Mondays recordbreaking crowd Tuesdays attendance appeared small but nevertheless it was an exceptionally large crowd for a weekday
