M Jockey J. Adams Enters Turf "Hall of Fame1 Rides Six Straight Winners at Bay Meadows Thursday American Jockey Leader of Last Year Gains New Laurels in His Chosen Profession. JOCKEY J. ADAMS. SAN MATEO, Calif., April 8. "Shorty" John Adams, the most consistent jockey that the West has seen in many a day, covered himself with glory at Bay Meadows Thursday afternoon, when he rode six straight winners, all at good prices. The- Kansas playboy started his streak with Miss Amie in the third race, paying 9.90, then followed with Danke Schon, 0.00; Rock X., 4.00; Dr. Spoon, 6.00; Monsweep, 6.80, and Undulate, .80. Undulate was the only favorite. "Shorty" did not have a mount in the second race and rode Strident to third place in the opening two-year-old affair.
