SPOON, hard held in the early running, came fast when given his head in the final quarter and, wearing down MANNIE in the stretch, beat the latter in a drive. MANNIE, well rated in the early part, held on gamely when challenged by the winner, but was not good enough. PHAROLAR raced close to MANNIE under restraint for the first half mile, was still under restraint when headed by DR. SPOON on the stretch turn, but raced wide in the stretch and finished fairly well on her own courage. PACKAGE was knocked to his knees when DONALD DUCK came over to bump him soon after the start, then saved ground and, showing a good effort, might have been dangerous with a more experienced rider. TRICKLING could never get to the leaders. SEVENTH RACE 1 MILE. Seabiscuit, Nov. 28, 19361:363110. Purse 00. 3-year-olds E2QQQ and upward. Allowances. MONSWEEP was under restraint to the last three-eighths, then came very fast to dash through an opening on the inside of OVER YONDER and, wearing down AIR CHUTE in the stretch, won in a drive. The latter sprinted to the front soon after the start to take a good lead on the back stretch, but, although hugging the rail in the stretch, was unable to resist the winner. STAR SINGER was badly outrun early, but made up much ground in the stretch. WINGSPREAD closed some ground. OVER YONDER quit badly in the stretch. TRENT could not keep up and seemed outclassed on the fast track. EIGHTH RACE 1 1-8 MILES. Don Roberto, May 29, 1937 1:50 4 107. Purse 00. trQffcfk 4-year-olds and upward. Claiming. Weight, 116 lbs. UNDULATE, under steadying reserve for three-quarters, moved up gradually when subjected to pressure, overhauled the leaders, drew clear, but was giving way to the belated rush of MARVEL PLAY at the finish. The latter, on the inside most of the way and under mild reserve, gave good response to strong riding and was wearing down the winner near the end. NORLANDA, prominent throughout, held on with good courage in the drive. TOROBANG attained a commanding lead early, continued well to the final quarter, but tired. 1 GOOD POLITIAN, sore going to the post, was never dangerous.
