ARLINGTON MINIMUM ,000 System of Trainers Awards for Routers to Be Continued. General Manager Boy Carruthers Receiving Steady Stream of Stable Reservations Directors Confer. No purses will be less than ,000 during the thirty-days Arlington Park meeting, which opens June 27 and closes July 30, announced racing secretary Charles J. McLennan, following a conference with directors of the leading Illinois track today. On all days, other than opening day and Saturdays when the values will be increased by Arlingtons handsomely endowed galaxy of stake features, two races at ,200 and six at ,000 will be in order, said McLennan. The system of trainers awards for distance races, inaugurated last summer at the Chicago meeting, will be continued. These awards are being maintained in line with the movement to stimulate racing over a distance of ground in America. In all races over a mile and three-sixteenths, the trainer saddling the winner will receive 0; all of a mile and a quarter, 00; all of a mile and three furlongs, 50; and all of a mile and a half or over, 00. Meanwhile, general manager Roy Carruthers has been receiving a steady flow of stall applications from all sections where horses race on this continent. More than 700 stalls out of the total of 1,300 available have been applied for, said Carruthers.
