1 LEXINGTON TURF NOTES I j $ Ben Whitaker, widely known Dallas owner, stopped off in Lexington en route to Havre do Grace, where J. H. McCoole has the Whitaker horses quartered, to inspect the six two-year-olds Jack Howard has for the Texas sportsman. They are sons and daughters of such fashionable sires as Sun Briar, Gallant Sir, Jamestown and Teddy and, according to Howard, have turned in some excellent works. The sextet will be shipped to Belmont Park after the close of the Lexington meeting. Frank Podesta, who has three horses at Keeneland, arrived from his home at Memphis and expects to remain until the close of the meeting. L. H. Silver, who visited Keeneland while en route to Maryland, announced that he shipped Stingy, Check Signal and Exhort to River Downs from Miami. The trio will be trained by L. M. Holmes. Mose Cossman, agent .for the E. R. Bradley - stable, is an arrival from Florida. He will remain here until Keeneland closes. Waldo T. Freeman, who confined his activities to Texas until the abolishment of racing in the Lone Star State, registered the horses he is training for A. N. Goldberg, of New Orleans. The horses stabled at the trotting track are Grand Waters, Gallant Pat, Forceful Witch, Sky Witch and French Witch. The Spring Valley Farm horses, which are to be raced at Keeneland, include Brilliant Rock, Gay Jay, Ducky Rose, Cohort Girl, Grand Lu, Ona Girl, Zenith Lad and Stall Man. The outfit is trained by Harold White.
