OlD FAVORITES AT AURORA 4 : Rushaway, Bien Fait and Wood-lander Ready for Opening. Wise Fox, Reaping, Miss Dolphin, Blaufuss, Well Heeled and Leading Article Also on Hand. AURORA, 111., 1 pril 15. A glance at racing secretary Dick Leighs registration book for Aurora, where the Illinois turf season opens May 2, reveals a lot of familiar horses names so far as local race patron are concerned. One of the minor complaints of horse players hereabouts, at the opening of every new season, is their lack of familiarity with a majority of the thoroughbreds which go to the post. This confusion ponerally lasts several weeks, or until those who like to risk a little something on the outcome have had a chance to rate the new horseflesh. It is evident from Leighs stable book that a lot of this difficulty for the players will be eliminated right from the start when the Fox Valley track opens. Without any attempt to classify some of these horses as to their ability, following are some of the thoroughbreds whose every move is known to the regulars among the Illinois turf frllowers: Wise Fox; Rushaway, Bien Fait, Wood-lander, Reaping, Miss Dolphin, Grey Streak, Allanwood and Top Dog. 600 HORSES PRESENT. The Aurora stable book shows the above already" quartered and in training. Of the 600 horses no- at the track, it is estimated that less than 200 will be newcomers to the .fans. This includes the two-year-olds which ; will be making their first appearance of the local season. Leigh believes that this same ratio will apply to several hundred other racers, which will arrive during the next two weeks. Following is another batch which provided thrills, heartaches and photo finishes for the fans during the winter months as they took their horse racing via the telegraph wires. Again no attempt is made at classification: Blaufuss, Wise Will, Well Heeled, Blind Sage, Leading Article, Busse Trumpet, Julia Grant, Wee Emma, Yes Polly, John Pane, Tonagar, Rock Prince, and Bel Espoir. Others which should recall pleasant memories, or otherwise, as the wires clicked are: Cardarrone, Florence B. F., Immersal, Zekiel, Virginia J., Prum, Erech, Boiling Point, Velociter, Parity, Jens Son, Beaver Lake, Asyouwere, Pundit, M. J. Brennan, Spickeen, Le Miserable and Transmutable. i
