Derby Speed Trials LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 1.— Seven of tomorrows candidates for Kentucky Derby indulged in final speed tests during the training at Churchill Downs this morning. The most ambitious spin was essayed by Warren Wrights Sun Again, who was sent three-quarters of a mile handily in 1:13H. He stepped the first quarter in :24, the half mile in :48 and five furlongs in 1:00. The track was fast. Mrs. Payne Whitneys Devil Diver and Shut Out breezed five furlongs each, while the others indulged in shorter drills. Devil Diver was timed in 1:01 and Shut Out in one -fifth of a second slower time. They worked separately. Three Derby horses to go a half mile were Mrs. Al Sabaths Alsab, Mr. and Mrs. Edward S. Moores Sir War and E. C. A. Bergers Boot and Spur. Alsab went handily and was timed in :48!5, while Sir War breezed the four furlongs in :48-» and Boot and Spur breezed it in :50. Fair Call, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Barclay K. Douglas, opened up three furlongs in :35% handily.
