Derby Running Times To Whirlaway, "Horse of the Year" for 1941, has fallen the honor of running the fastest Kentucky Derby on record, the Calumet sensation having traversed the mile and one-quarter distance in 2:01% in winning last years renewal. Not only does this time represent the fastest in the history of the stake, but in addition it is a track record for the Churchill Downs course.
