TOP NOTE drew out gradually, and tired, but lasted. PLAY GREENOCK, a factor from was on the inside after the first five-sixteenths the start, held on well. CHANCE LARK dropped back slightly when rounding the turn, but closed determinedly. RANGLE, never a great distance back though weakly handled, bore out entering the stretch, closed well when straight and may have been best. BUECHEL began slowly. IDA STRENG showed early speed, then tired badly. MICKEYS BID bolted racing into the turn. HEART BREAKER had speed fr- hi st?rt. veered out suddenly when entering the stretch and, closing gamely when straight, just lasted. BLUE SHOT, a strong factor from the start, also held on stubbornly. PHILADELPHIA, away t. t taken back, was in hand to the last eighth, moved up on the inside and swerved out near the end. DISTANT LIGHT, sharply blocked in the first quarter and forced wide entering the stretch, had little chance. LUCKY TRIP was in close quarters much of the race. MATERIALIZE had little chance, due to interference. WAR BOLT raced to contention with a rush, but as unable to keep up. TIP YOUR HAT was sharply blocked. UNCLE BARB fell when in close quarters. JUST BEANS ran into a good lead with a rush, increased his advantage while still in hand approaching the stretch and, continuing well, held the race safe thereafter. MASCULINE, well up and in hand for a half, hung on well under pressure. LATENT also offered contention from the start, but tired in the late stages. MARMAC, taken back at the start, showed a splendid effort. BELLCODA tired in the drive. SPARKLING GEM finished well. CAPTAIN FURY lost ground and was held safe. SONNY CASEY began well, but lacked speed and showed a poor effort. JOAN T. drew out gradually after reaching the turn, swerved when entering the stretch, pulled away while going to the inside approaching the last eighth and was not endangered thereafter. WINAMAC, in hand early, obtaind room on the inside in the stretch and closed well. TEDDY KERRY, well up from the start, drifted out in the stretch, but closed evenly when straight. BONZAR raced very wide and dropped back just inside the final quarter, but was racing well at the end. VOTUM had speed, but began to tire before going five-eighths. HADA MOON, much used in the early pacemaking,-was placed to pressure before reaching the stretch, yet held on fairly well. DAVID B. JR., in hand early, dropped back on the final turn, swerved badly in the stretch and, closing well when straight, might have been second in another stride. PARI CALL, weakly ridden and far back to the stretch, closed on her own courage. MISS NUTMEG quit. JIM LIPSCOMB had nothing left when put to a drive. VALDINA CHIEF had no mishaps. MAN ABOUT TOWN, well handled and allowed to move up gradually while under stout restraint in the first seven-eighths, bore over when racing into the lead and, much the best, drew out without need of strong urging. NEW ENGLANDER, on the inside almost from the start, had to be hustled to escape being blocked on the stretch turn when in fairly close quarters as the winner came over in the stretch, but faltered when clear.- MAD MACAW, taken back early, came with a rush in the stretch. SONG SPINNER moved up slightly in the stretch and, under stronger urging, might have outfinished MAD MACAW. TIPPITY, eased back early, was blocked and closed under light urging. MEMPHIS LAD, under a steady- ing hold for three-quarters, was sent through on the inside when taking command and swerved badly when tiring in the last eighth, but held DOUG BRASHEAR safe. The latter worked his way up gradually and, closing resolutely, was getting to the winner. THE OBJECT, in hand for three-quarters, held on well in the drive. NOPALOSA RED could not get up. PERPLEX had no mishaps. PEACHARINO had speed, was poorly rated, then bore out on the stretch turn and tired thereafter. SPEEDY SQUAW never threatened, yet held on well.
