Kentucky Group Approves Breeder Awards LEXINGTON, Ky., June 21.— A group of Central Kentucky horsemen and breeders, meeting here Saturday, approved the schedule of breeders awards now in effect in New York, and sent the following telegram to the Thoroughbred Racing Associations of the United States, Inc., at New York: "The following resolution to the Thoroughbred Racing Associations of the United States, Inc., was passed at a meeting of thoroughbred breeders at the Lafayette Hotel, Lexington, Ky., on June 19, 1943: That the schedule of breeders awards now in effect in New York be recommended to other race tracks as a pattern to be followed as closely as possible, with minimum awards to be paid to the breeders of winners of overnight races and five per cent of the added money to be paid to the breeders of winners of stake races. This recommendation is based on present racing conditions." Only two of the breeders present dissented. They were Leslie Combs II. and Charles A. Asbury, who had previously voted in favor of a recent thoroughbred club recommendation that breeders awards not be paid in claiming races.
