New Ruling by ODT Paves Way For Spa Meeting at Belmont AQUEDUCT, L. I.. N. Y., June 21.— The Office of Defense Transportations relaxation of its ban against operating electric trains to race tracks virtually assures that the Saratoga Associations August meeting will be conducted at Belmont Park. The directorate of the up-state meeting was in conference last week. No public announcement of plans for the transfer of its dates was forthcoming at the time. The ODTS announcement of the amendment to this regulation makes possible the use of the Belmont Park spur of the Long Island Railroad. No application for the transfer of the clubs dates has been filed with the New York State Racing Commission, but this is regarded as a formality. It is indicated that an announcement of the transfer of the Saratoga meeting to Belmont Park will be made within a few days. The meeting opens Monday, July 26, and extends 30 racing days through Saturday, August 28. It follows Empire Citys 24 -day session at the Metropolitan Jockey Clubs Jamaica course.
