Ocean Wave Pops Splint; Out of Arlington Classic HOMEWOOD, 111., June 21.— Calumet Farms Ocean Wave is out of the Arlington Classic, it was announced by his owner, Warren Wright, and his trainer, Ben Jones, as the Arlington Park Jockey Club opened its meeting at Washington Park today. The three-year-old son of Blenheim II. popped a splint on the inside of his left foreleg, just below the knee, and he is to be fired I for the trouble immediately. Treatment of this condition will require from one month to six weeks and this circumstance will preclude his chances of being made ready for the 0,000 Classic on July 24. Ocean Wave recovered from the ; foot injury he sustained just before he was to have taken part in the Kentucky Derby last May and, in the interim, also was fired for the splint, but the operation, apparently, was not successful. Jones said that while he hopes to have Ocean Wave back in racing trim in time for the American Derby, to be run late in August, it is too early to make any predictions in that connection.
