| New York Notes JAMAICA, L. I., N. Y.. April 12. Jockey Joe Renick was granted a license to ride during the current meeting. Albert Page was among the recent arrivals to join the increasing colony of riders now at Jamaica. C. Parke arrived from Florida and will perform during the meeting now in progress. Jockey H. Hathaway accepted his first mount of the season when he was astride Topsy Sue in the second race here today. Fred Marshall is handling the riding engagements of jockey B. Strange, who rode so well here last fall. J. Mona is booking the mounts for jockey Lee Haskell during the new season. Apprentice Claude Erickson joined the colony of riders now at the Jamaica course. He was a recent arrival from Florida. Jockey Steve Brooks left for his Dallas, Texas, home. His wife is seriously ill and an urgent operation was recommended. Brooks hopes to be back next week. H. Crouch reported this morning that the filly Patricia P. had injured herself in her stall and would be on the shelf for some time. Tobe Trotter notified racing secretary John B. Campbell that he would be here on Thursday with a draft of horses from Miami. Alsab will head the shipment that trainer Sarge Swenke is expected to unload at Belmont Park tomorrow. Don, son of Jack Murray, well known Daily Racing Form docker, is a prisoner of war in Germany. Young Murray was shot down during a raid over that country in March. His parents were notified by the War Office that he is safe. A. K. Weast is due here today from Tropical Park with a draft of horses for a spring campaign.
