Claude Feltner, youthful and efficient horseman, arrived with the strong stable he will race at Narragansett for W. I. Lunt. Apprentice Harry Pratt, who was one of the better lightweights during the Florida and Hot Springs winter season, accompanied the unit and will do the bulk of the riding here for Feltner. Apprentice Kenneth Scawthorn, who showed to good advantage in the saddle I during the winter racing season, reported to O. L. Foster, who is conditioning the Mrs. R. A. Smith stable thoroughbreds. P. O. Anderson will make Scawthorn s out-j side saddle engagements. Joseph Bauer arrived here late Tues-» day. He will take charge of the 25 horses here for Walter Gullatt. Ben Lessler, sta-I ble agent for Gullatt, announced that Wendel Eads and apprentice R. Duncan would do the riding for the establishment. Adelard "Frenchy" Lamoreaux registered Night Editor, Momo Flag, Dr. Johnson, ; Paircais and Midluck after the horses arrived from Oaklawn Park. Momo Flag was victor in two important engagements at the Hot Springs course. Paul Morris registered the eastern di-: vision of C. F. Wagners Donna-Ray Sta-" I ble, which comprises 15 head. The unit was shipped here from the Hipodromo de j las Americas. Mexico City, and made the 1 long trip without mishap. I Johnny McDowell checked in from Hot ! Springs with six horses, the property of Mrs. E. A. Froelich, two for Mrs. E. Mc- ; Dowell. one for A. G. Silverman and West- 1 wood Belle, who is to race in New England J , for Mrs. Flora G. Miller. H. C. Wolfe came in from Oaklawn Park with the speedy three-year-old Evelyn j Rolls. Wolfe also brought an unnamed two-year-old filly, the get of Lost Cause , and Miss Curiosity, whom he acquired from 1 Edward Haughton. Archer Bevan checked in from Keene-land with the twelve head he will campaign here for Mrs. Bevan. Jockey Tony Santer : accompanied the contingent. Ensign Frank Ames, son of Billy Ames, , Narragansett Park public relations director, , ! J j , is returning to active duty with the U. S. • Coast Guard after enjoying a leave of absence at the Ames home in Rumford, R. I. . Jack Hennessy, a member of starter ; Buddy Wingfield staff has been in charge - of the schooling at Narragansett and reported • that a record number of thoroughbreds ■ visited the gate for the educational 1 sessions thus far. Harry Stutts, one-time riding star, came ; in from Oaklawn Park with four of his 5 own horses. On arrival at Narragansett, Stutts took up two others to train for W. . E. Parker. Mickey M. Harrison, former jockey, is 5 on hand with five members of the W. C. Stroube stable, one horse for J. D. Johnson 1 and one other, the property of Stroube and 1 Collins. Jockey Paul Keiper arrived from Hot Springs and immediately reported to H. H. . Haag. Keiper s outside mounts are in the ; hands of Harry Hollander. Lyman A. Brusie announced at Narragansett - that he will train eight horses here i for Mrs. W. H. Crane and one each for G. T. Hanna and S. H. Zachar. Don Loop. 104-pound apprentice, reported - to Paul Morris and will ride the ; light weights for C. F. Wagners Donna-Ray - Stable. William Karcher. for many years one of f the key men in Mortimer Mahonys mutuel 1 staff, is in charge of the wagering division 1 at Narragansett Park this season. Starter Buddy Wingfield announced here e today that schooling hours would be from 1 7:30 to 9:00 a. m. daily except Sunday. Frank South, who has been horsemens s bookkeeper here since the tracks inaugural 1 meeting, was back at his usual post.
