JOHN Q PI BLIC was otf alertly and, taking command at once, was well rated while making the pace and responded to pressure to outlast FLLl The latter moved up gradually to the stretch, went to the inside and closed best of all to be overling the winner. SEA RAFT forced the winners pace to the stretch, but drifted out slightly on the straightaway. TINY TACKLE faltered after racing in contention for three turlongs. CAPE MAY. off alertly, was unable to keep up early, saved ground entering the stretch, but did not menace seriously. TRUE LASS tired after racing nearest ihe leader for three-eighths. STORMCOCK showed an even ettort. BLICKY BOY tired and appealed to have needed the outing. LADY FANAR showed brief speed. BRINKLOW was eased up when the ridei lost the stirrup irons. PENSIVE, in the fir«t flight from the "start while racing on the outside, reached the leader at the eighth post and was hard i.dden to hold a short advantage when PORTERS CAP came again under strong urging. The latter showed good speed to take command at once, was steadied along while showing in front, fought it out willinely and just missed. SUN AGAIN dropped out of it on the turn, rallied mildly when placed under punishment, but could not reach the first two. PICOTEE was off slowest, went through on the inside to force the pace, but tired badly in the stretch. MISS KEENELAND failed to rally at any stage and had no apparent mishaps. CALS PET disposed of CRUISER to take a clear advantage, held sway to the three-sixteenths post, where he faltered and just managed to save the place. HIGH BIT was crowded back entering the backstretch, responded to pressure in the stretch and should improve off this race. BLUE CADET raced evenly. BIG JACK saved ground to reach contention early, but tired gradually. CRUISER was hustled to the front going to the first turn, but quit badly. Overweight — Cruiser. 3 pounds.
