Michigan Notes FAIR GROUNDS, Detroit, Mich., June 26. Joe Baumbach, who for years has campaigned a string hereabouts as well as m Ohio, ft seriously ill at the Highland Park General Hospital. He was admitted last Friday following a heart attack at the track and his condition has not greatly improved over the week-end. Following loss by claim of his lone campaigner, Surgeon Dick, R. "Dick" Fisher acquired Might Step and Michigan Blue and is again "in action." The former was purchased at private terms from P. J. Valenti, and Michigan Blue was acquired by claim. C. W. Damon added to his list the horses Trouble Sands, Mac-Pin, Boy-Pin and Sis-Pin, which arrived today from River Downs. Trouble Sands is the property of R. P. Hinton and the others compete for the account of P. R. Hinton. James S. Jones, who with his wife maintains the Rolling Hills Stable, returned from Lexington, Ky., where he and Mrs. Jones inspected yearlings and their own two-year-old Nell A., who is turned out at Alsab Farm. The filly will be fired and blistered. At private terms Carter Brown Friday bought Duty Galls from J. L. McKnight. The latter will continue to train the horse.
