Adams Still Shows Way DETROIT, Mich., June 26. Due to extricating himself from the slump he was in for a few days last week, Johnny Adams continues to hold a considerable advantage while leading rival jockeys at the Fair Grounds. Inclusive of Saturdays racing, the Tola, Kansas, lightweight has piloted winners of 51 races here. His closest competitor for leading jockey honors is Mike Caffarella, with 37 winning mounts to his credit, while James R. Layton has been successful on 20 different occasions. Tied for fourth place are Porter Roberts and Billie Thompson, each having guided 18 winners.
