MAJOR JIMMY, away well but unable to keep up with the pace, showed a good effort and raced on the outside. SEE D. closed ground in the stretch. SKYLARK dropped back after five-sixteenths. FLOWING TIDE lost ground going wide. COUNT ESMER also raced wide, but finished well. AL-TRAM raced in spots. ISA APPLAUD flattened out. DIS SICKLE was slow to start. Overweight Isa Applaud, 1 pound. BACHELOR BOY took over under urging, lengthened his advantage, after the first quarter of a mile, came out for the drive and just outlasted CALL TO COLORS. The latter, rushed forward in the stretch, appeared to have taken the lead in the final strides, but could not outstay the winner. BETTER BY PHAR. had no mishaps. FUR COAT was used up trying to wear down the pace. MOONLITE BOBBY was not good enough. RODIA moved to the front from the outside and was kept under a drive to the finish to hold MISS MARY JO safe. The latter, well up but unable to menace until rounding the far turn, came out for the drive and finished gamely. BOOM ON, slow to get started, circled his field and closed with a rush. DARBY DANJU, away alertly, could not withstand the challenge of the winner, though remaining prominent to the end. KIRWIN had no excuse. . MERCURY lacked racing room in the early stages and, badly handled, was permitted to be blocked entering the stretch, then dropped back. WALTHAM CROSS could not keep up.
