HALCYON BOY, a sharp factor from the start, took command after going a half mile and drifted out entering the stretch, but retained his advantage to the finish under brisk handling. DARBY DU, slow to begin, improved his position steadily to the final three-eighths, then came to the outside for the drive and finished resolutely. HI-KID .could not reach the leaders when set down for the drive. OVANDO had no mishaps. TRAVELALONG could not threaten. HIGH BROW tired after going three-quarters. CREEPY MOUSE went to the front early and held on well to the stretch, then gave way badly, pulling up lame. TAMLIN was outrun. HATTIE BELLE could not keep up. ISLAM KING, never far back, was forced wide on the final turn but finished strongly under punishment. BATTLE STAR improved his position to the stretch, but could not get to the leaders when set down for the drive. ELKTON, outrun early, closed, fast on the outside. ROYAL ARMY made a good effort in the stretch before tiring. WAPAN, caught in close quarters soon after the start, was forced to take Up sharply and failed to recover. OUT FRONT tired. FLYING CONNIE was carried wide, by CAT LADY entering the stretch and could not. threaten when clear. TITIAN MISS was on the outside all the way. ANN M. had no mishaps. BILLY O. raced nearest the winner from the start but lost ground when his rider persisted in keeping him on the outside and was not good enough when set down for the stretch drive. DINNER PARTY could not improve his position and had no excuse. INCOMING never was dangerous. FIRST DRAFT was outrun. LOVEDAY dropped back after the start and was outrun all the way. DARK CLOUD, in hand to the last three-eighths, came to the inside for the drive and closed stoutly under punishment. RISKTON made a good bid approaching the stretch, but failed to stay when hard urged during the drive. BIG RAID had no mishaps. ROY H. S. began slowly. HOBBYS FIRST was outrun.
