War Knight Makes 44 Homewood Bow Encounters Challenge Me And Equifox in Featured War Admiral Purse Today HOMEWOOD, 111.. June 26. War Knight, one of Californias favorite homebreds, will test his ability against Easterners for the first time in the War Admiral Purse, feature race at Washington Park tomorrow. The distance of one mile will suit the son of High Quest who races in the silks of Miss Ethel Hill, Hollywood scenario writer, and is trained by Hurst Philpot, one of Californias better young conditioners. War Knight raced with the best at Bay Meadows, and numbered among his victims such as Put in, Pirate and Blueberry Pie. A field of five will tangle in the War Admiral with War Knight and Equifox each slated to carry 115 pounds which is the top weight for the affair. Others in the field are Challenge Me, winner of the Arkansas Derby and a starter in the Kentucky Derby, Choppy Sea and Night Shadow. Equifox, strong distance runner was withdrawn from last Saturdays Equipoise Mile. The War Admiral, for a purse of ,000, will come fifth on the program. Three Dots Goes Again Three Dots who recently equalled the six-furlong track record at Washington Park when he ran the distance in 1:10V5 will attempt to stretch out an extra furlong and remain in front of a good field in the secondary feature. Listed seventh on the card the race has been named in honor of Twenty Grand. Three Dots was impressive in his recent victory, registering by half a dozen lengths and there seems to be no good reason why he should not have enough speed for the seven furlongs test. Among those he will meet are Ruditaurus, an easy winner Saturday; Son of War, a handicap horse of ability; Sentiment Sake, who clicked at a long price last week and Eugene, Bolo Tie, Fire Dust and Take Away. The fifth race, for fillies and mares, has been designated as the Home in Indiana Purse, the recently released motion picture production pertaining to racing and the winning horse will be decorated by Miss Hedda Hopper, well-known Hollywood columnist. Letmenow, who graduated recently, and Paddle, who has been working well, have been entered for the interest of H. P. Head-ley, while Just for Fun, third to Roman Sox and Gold Princess in the Misty Isle Handicap, Saturday; Bibelot, Snack and Missy Miss are some of the others. Dorothy D. K., strong running turf mare, will attempt to win her second race of the season on the grass when she meets a full field in the nightcap, while some shifty two-year-old fillies will seek graduation honors in the daily two-year-old event. The remaining races, namely the first, second and third events, will each be at six fur- . longs. The only claiming race on the program will be the turf affair.
