NELLIE WEED was close enough in the early stages and, coming strongly in the middle of the track through the stretch, got to the front in the last thirty yards to win going away. MISS STAGE began slowly and was outrun early, but finished gamely. KAOHI took a short lead entering the last furlong, but was unable to last. LEOREY was going gamely next to the rail at the finish. JR. made up ground and was going well at the finish. ANXIETY lacked speed and was never a serious contender. VALDINA DISCO dropped back when in close quarters early. PASSAN made a strong move after entering the stretch to catch WOG an eighth out and hold her to the finish. WOG got through an opening on the stretch turn to take a short lead and went fairly well to the end. BOSWECO saved ground in the early stages, but tired in the stretch. DUOLC tired and bore out in the stretch. THE ANSWER was in trouble on the first turn. OFF AT 4:36 CENTRAL WAR TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. PURPLE HEART moved strongly -after turning for home and, taking the rail at midstretch, closed fast to catch HEMITE in the final strides. HEMITE took a short lead when straightened into the stretch and raced well to the finish. ROBINS CROWN had a clear lead on the stretch turn, but weakened in the final drive. LADY JULIET raced close up on the -outside. MARGARET T. tired after going a half mile. SWEEPING AHEAD also weakened in the stretch. Scratched 607203 Pleasure Hour, 111; 60921 Campanula,-111. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. TWOSY, close up from the start, saved ground throughout and, continuing strongly to the end, bested BLUE SKIMMER narrowly in the final strides, but was disqualified for interfering with the latter and placed second. BLUE SKIMMER came to the outside of SUROSA in the stretch and, despite being bothered when the latter bore out to assert the lead in the last sixteenth, went well to the end. SUROSA drew out aftci leaving the backstretch, but weakened in the stretch. BOSAGE was going well at the finish. The others were unable to keep up. Overweight Lady Kentucky, 2 "pounds. . The latter saved ground in the stretch, but was unable to get through on the inside of the winner. DROLLON, saved early, went fairly well to the end. OPENING BID made, up some ground. REAPING GOLD tired. The others were never serious contenders. Overweight Opening Bid, 1 pound. NINTH RACE SUBSTITUTE DECLARED OFF. Attendance, 13,000; Total Mutuel Handle, 74,576.
