Gulfstream Files Dates For Meeting of 40 Days Seek to Run One Continuous Session Beginning March 6 MIAMI, Fla., June 27. — James Donn of I | the Gulfstream Park track disclosed here -today that he and his associates have filed ; [ a petition with the Florida State Racing I j Commission asking for a license to operate I the Hallendale course for 40 days, begin- ] « ning March 6, 1946. The Broward County j j track reopened last winter when a meeting j of 20 days was held in December and a f second meeting of the same length wss | J automatically cancelled by the Federal , | suspension of racing. j In making the announcement Donn said i that his association like many others, j i i would prefer to run all of their allowable 40 days in one meeting rather than to conduct a split season. The Gulfstream application, together with those either filed or to be field by Hialeah Park and Tropical Park, will be considered at a meeting of the commission scheduled for July 10 and 11.
