Y., June 27.— The Brighton Beach Purse, a ,000 test for three-year-olds and upward which had not won 8,000 this year, was slated as the mile and a furlong feature of tomorrows Aqueduct program, but it failed to interest owners and trainers sufficiently to provide a contest. Thus the two secondary fea-. tures, each endowed with ,500, will provide the principal entertainment for the race-hungry throng at the Queens County Jockey Club track. The two remaining features are the I Gotham Purse, at five and a half furlongs, which will be the fourth offering, and the Port Hamilton Purse, for four-year-olds and upward, at a mile and a sixteenth, that follows on the program as the sixth offering. Seven have been named for the Gotham, including the recent winners Darby Darius, Georgie V. and Twenty-Six. The others are Mountain Roar, Incline. Colonel Harry and Hippodrome. Georgie V., who carries the Veasy Stable colors, will probably be the favorite in this dash on the strength of his victory over The Problem at Belmont last Friday. There will also be support for Twenty-i Six. who won the Youthful Stakes at Ja-I maica. Of the others, Hippodrome has the ad-j vantage of being an Aqueduct resident and may improve when racing over his home track. A dozen have been named for the Fort Hamilton, with another on the also eligible list. This field is headed by All Talk, with 116 pounds, and includes a pair of couplings. Gabe Paul and Old Union will race for B. F. Spach, while War Master and Caduceus, who is an also eligible, have been entered by W. H. Pond. Several recent winners are entered for this test, including Brenner Pass and Oatmeal. Gabe Paul also surprised recently at Belmont and came back with a somewhat dismal effort in last Fridays nightcap. Chance Mate, a Fort Hamilton candidate, made his first start since the Tropical Park meeting in the same race and finished second, four lengths back of Proof Coil. Oatmeal was a driving winner over Magellan at a mile and a half the same day, while Brenner Pass beat the consistent Rekrab at a mile and a furlong on Thursday. The others in this affair are Free Dutch, Gambling Andy, Sea Base and Tit Tat Toe. The latter occasionally comes up with a i good effort in company at least as good as this. All in all, it is an open affair. The seven-race card as a whole is one I to inspire more speculation than interest in the improvement of the breed.
