GALLOWAY was hustled to the turn where he continued on the outside, but, under a light hold, took command quickly after reaching the last quarter and, ridden out, had little left. MASICO LAD, well up from the beginning, saved much ground and held on well. RANAHEAD displayed good speed for the going from the beginning, readily gave way to the winner and MASICO LAD, yet finished determinedly. DELEGATE, taken out early, closed well. MAYOR LEO, away fast but unable to keep up, was holding on gamely at the close. GRAND FELLOW dwelt at the start. HAPPY HASTE showed little from a slow beginning. LOACHAPOKA, away well and raced wide early, cut to the inside before passing VALLEYS PAL on the turn, came out in the stretch and, wearing down SABLE SAR, drew out to win with something left. PETSOME, taken back soon after the start, was slow to respond, but came with high speed in the final quarter and headed SABLE STAR in the last stride. SABLE STAR had good speed from the break, but weakened after five-eighths. PORT MARS showed speed in spots, but was going well at the end. EASY DOUGH began in a tangle. SPEED MIL did not break alertly. ZESTFUL RAN AWAY BEFORE THE START, WAS ORDERED SCRATCHED BY THE STEWARDS AND ALL WAGERS ON HIM WERE REFUNDED. SANDSLINGER, away fast and rated along close to the early pace, sprinted into command when called upon after straightening up in the stretch and was ridden out. WIRE QUEST began slowly and raced wide early, but swung to the inside in the stretch and closed stoutly ITS HER displayed good speed from the start, raced wide the last three-eighths and weakened badly in the final eighth. LADY KENTUCKY began to weaken after reaching the last quarter. ARIELITA dropped back when bearing out on the turn and was not a threat thereafter. BILL, taken in hand after being rushed into command, increased his advantage gradually rounding the turn, was lightly shaken up in the stretch and continued well to the end. SUPERWOLF bettered his position gradually and was holding on with much determination at the end. ROMAN BELLE, under hustling tactics after a half mile, did not keep up. FRANK MUNNS did not threaten at any time. CATCHWEISTA showed only a flash of early speed. DUQUESNE, suited by the going and remaining close up under strong restraint to the stretch, came around WALLFLOWER when moving with a rush and was taken under restraint in the last seventy yards. WALLFLOWER took an easy lead, was under restraint to the stretch and could not withtstand the winner, yet held on fairly well. TAWNY LADY raced wide and closed gamely under mild pressure. PAPALOI began fast, but was unable to keep up. PARASANG broke slowly, eased himself before going fifty yards and did not extend himself until the last quarter. HISTORIAN raced wide after the first three-sixteenths and, under strong restraint to the last three-eighths, began his bid when approaching the stretch, withstood an extended drive gamely and was up at the end. TIGER REBEL raced into a wide lead with a rush, was taken under a good hold after about three-sixteenths, was under urging after reaching the stretch and made a game effort to repel the winners challenge, but was not good enough. REAL SHORT rallied when placed to good urging, but weakened in the last furlong. ADELPHIA had no mishap. QUIBS BALLY was outrun. TAKE WING began well, but could not handle the footing and was out of contention in the final half mile. SMOLENSKO faltered suddenly and was eased by his rider in the last three-sixteenths. Won handily; second and third driving SPOON BREAD, racing wide from the start and strongly restrained to the stretch turn, rallied willingly to light pressure, drifted in slightly after reaching the last eighth and drew out when straightened up. DEVILS ISLAND, also under a srong hold early, swerved slightly when placed to pressure after reaching the last three-sixteenths, had to be eased when in close quarters between the winner and TUTELO and closed well when clear. TUTELO, poorly rated, swerved repeatedly after reaching the last three-sixteenths and began to weaken badly when nearing the last eighth. NICTOR raced well to the stretch, then faltered. ROCKWOOD LOU, well handled but raced a trifle wide and in hand to the final quarter, reached the lead under light urging, lost command for a brief time, but held on gamely and, returning to the front as LATE THREAD weakened, drew out in the closing strides. LATE THREAD, not persevered with well back, raced into the lead on the inside, but weakened in the last furlong. SIBLEY started up on the final turn, swung to the extreme outside in the stretch and hung after nearing the leaders, but came again. VANFLAG was held safe. DONNA BRAND, raced wide, was under urging before reaching the final half mile and gave way fast through the stretch. CHERRY WINE had early speed, then faltered suddenly and was not ridden out.
