H. Bishop; bred by David B. Knox. WENT TO POST— 5:34. OFF AT 5:36 CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. BROWN MATE bore over sharply to the first turn, took a short lead easily after reaching the backstretch, swerved out entering the last quarter and failed to withstand UP FRONTS challenge, but held on well and regained command as UP FRONT faltered. The latter moved with a rush on the stretch turn, was sent through on the inside when making his bid, but weakened after getting to the front. ECHO BEACH, in hand to the last quarter, did not rally and weakened in the late stages. MR. DANNY began slowly, bore in badly for the entire trip and otherwise might have been a stronger contender at the finish. ROSE CAVE showed a good effort. BOLO FANCY was taken back as MR. DANNY placed her in close quarters on the final turn. RED TED weakened badly in the last quarter. Scratched— 989083 Fighting Mac, 111; 99234 Spring Dun, 111.
